The Chester County Open is an annual tennis tournament held every summer, bringing together players and enthusiasts for a great cause.
All funds raised during this event go directly to the Chester County Volunteer English Program, which provides free English lessons to immigrants in our community. In addition to supporting language education, we also donate food to West Chester Food Cupboard helping to combat hunger in our area.
Your participation not only promotes healthy competition but also makes a significant impact on the lives of those in need. Join us to play, donate, and make a difference together!
We are a passionate group of tennis aficionados, proud residents of Chester County, and dedicated players with over 20 years of experience on the court. During the COVID lockdown, TT Krishnagopal (Krishna) envisioned conducting a tennis tournament designed to foster camaraderie among club-level players while offering them a tournament experience. Our main goal is to raise funds for local nonprofits with proceeds benefiting the causes we support.
For our inaugural event in 2021, our group met weekly for six months to brainstorm and refine ideas on all aspects, beginning with tournament format, player demographics, match structure, scoring systems, scheduling, and venue selection. In August 2021, we successfully hosted our first tournament, which spanned two weekends and brought together a diverse community of players.
Since then, we have experienced steady growth, not only in terms of player participation but also in the generosity of our sponsors & donors. Till date, we have donated over $22,000 and 2,500 pounds of food, making a meaningful impact on our local community.
Chester County Tennis open is IRS Registered 501c(3) Non Profit, EIN ID # 99-0401187.
We are supported by USTA Middle States,Philadelphia and sponsored by Tennis Addiction Sports Club.
